What retail companys will hire me for management without management experience?

What retail stores in Australia usually are happy to do work experience?

I’m 15 and I have to do work experience for school. I’m thinking of using this to try and get a part-time job. I’m thinking something like retail, or similar like a supermarket, but I just want to know what stores usually accept work experience. I have to do it for a week and work a full day. Any ideas??? I don’t want to do fast food.

I know for a fact that the Body Shop does, as I have a friend who did her work experience there. But almost any store should accept work experience, after all they get someone to do their work for free. Just decide which stores you like and would like to work in, and go in and ask the manager if they do work experience.

But honestly, you arent guaranteed a job after and you’d be better off doing work experience in the field you want to end up in.

How do I go about getting a retail tax license for an online retail business?

My husband is looking to start an online retail business selling ammo and shooting/hunting supplies (but not the firearms themselves). What kind of licenses do we need and how do we go about getting them?
Thanks

Tax (retail) certificate (its not a license) is from the franchise tax board. Business license is from city government. Permit for ammno–that I do not know, sorry. Shipping ammo–ask at UPS or the post office what that would entail.

What is the easiest retail credit card to get approved for?

I have one judgment (paid), and two older collections (paid), a secured installment loan, and one credit card with a low limit. Never been late on the last two. I am trying to establish a good mix of credit. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much luck with the retail cards.

I would avoid ‘retail’ credit cards altogether. They have extremely high interest rates– and lots of hidden fees. You might consider a credit card designed for poor / no credit here:

http://www.asapcreditcard.com/unsecured-offers.html

While these credit cards have slightly higher interest rates (and additional fees) when compared to ‘standard’ credit cards– they’re much cheaper than a store / retail card. Plus, they’ll allow you to build and improve your credit history over time.

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!

What other jobs are associated with one who only has retail experience ?

I have 13 years of retail experience as supervisor or a manager. I want to get out of retail. What other fields will except my retail experience even without a degree?

Don’t look at your work experience only as retail.

You have supervisory/managerial experience. Customer service experience etc. Break it down and you will then see that your skills can transfer to many areas.

Many companies will recognise this without formal qualifications, try hospitals, hotels, call centres.

What is the best retail chain to work for?

What is the standard retail markup for designer jewelry?

For jewelry designers, if the COGS is 100.00 what would the standard wholesale and retail pricing be?

I am not sure of the retail prices…my mother is a buyer and designer for costume jewelry, hats and clothing. She buys all her merchandise wholesale so that is all I really know about.

Usually the wholesale cost is roughly 20%-40% less than the retail value. Retail is sometimes as much as twice the amount of a wholesale price. It depends on the item’s value. Some costume jewelry is very expensive which most people do not understand. Some costume jewelry can cost as little a $1 to hundreds of dollars. Not sure if that helped to answer your question but that is what I know since I have helped my mother pick out certain items. We go to New York City or online to shop.

If I have a retail store and want to place my products on eBay, what is the best way to manage my inventory?

I have a website, and a retail store. I now want to open an eBay store to increase my web presence, but it seems I need to remove my eBay items from my other inventory in order to post them in my store. What is the best method for this?

You can take a look at inFlow Inventory. It is a basic inventory system that has all the esstenials.

They have a Free version that is free forever, but limits to 100 products and customers. The software itself is very easy to use and fast to install.

Here is their website:

Hope this helps!

What is the difference between retail stores and trade stores?

What is the difference between retail stores and trade stores?
I know it’s a dumb question, but I really don’t know.
I was thinking of applying for Bunnings online, and it said if I wanted to work in a retail store or a trade store.

Retail sells to the general public, trade sells to other tradespeople only e.g. normally in bulk.

What problems managers face while distributing goods from warehouses to retail shops in a retail chain?

We need to know about the distribution of products from store warehouses to retail shops in a retail shop. Describe any problem related to transportation, manpower, communications, urgency, etc that are routine problems faced by managers. Problems at different levels of management is also of value. Greater details and in depth specifications are of very much useful to us.

first and the foremost the the managing manpower since retailing needs lot of manpower and co-ordination of different departments like production, logistics, distributor and retailer network

Transportation if by self will be feasible if by other mode then you have depend and urge the transporter for timely service.

there may be offices at different locations, you have to be in complete control to manage effectively

What would happen, if you called a retail store home office, and complain about a manager?

What would happen, if this happened?

A job applicant applied for a job, at a retail store. The retail store was hiring at the time, and the job applicant did qualify for the job he applied for. The manager looked over the application, and didn’t want to interview the particular applicant. A few days later, the applicant calls the manager of the store he applied at. The job applicant asked the manager about his applicantion, and about getting an interview. Next the manager said offensive things to the applicant, over the phone. The manager went off on how he (the applicant), doesn’t have what it takes to be a successful employee, and starts calling the applicant, all kinds of names.

What would happen, if the applicant hung up and called the home office of the store? After the applicant told a represenitive what had happen with the manager of the store, would that manager get in trouble? Would the manager face some type of consequence, for being rude?
What would the consequences be, if there would be any given to the manager?

I would certainly write and complain.
Clearly lay out your case in order adding times and dates.
Explain the abuse you received.

Many companies do not get complaints about their managers, and rely on the public to keep them informed.

Consequences. That will depend upon the relationship between the manager in question and the upper management.
It could result in a slap on the wrist to disciplinary action such as a warning.

Where can I find the original retail prices of automobiles and trucks?

I need to go back in time and find original retail values of automobiles. My first vehicle is a 2001 Ford Econoline Van. Anyone know where to find the suggested retail price?
Unfortunately, I need to find the original MSRP or Invoice price. I have been to all of the sites below, Edmunds, KBB, and Nada. All of them give the current retail price, but don’t include historical prices.

kelly blue book or NADA…they can both be found online

What is the retail price of Macpherson pro audio speakers.?

I really want to know what the retail prices of these macpherson speakers are.

M12C Series
KS115 subwoofer
M2X Version 2
I am looking at buying some used speakers and was wondering what they are worth is why I am wondering. I tried to contact Macpherson but they wanted me to call a dealer. I did not want to waist a dealers time if I wasn’t planning on buying anything from them.

Matt – MacPherson is a "high end" pro speaker and you will not find the prices on the internet easily. You can get the prices though by calling MacPherson and getting the name of a dealer. You call the dealer and they will tell you the prices. That will work but it will take some effort.

http://www.macpherson-inc.com/ContactUs.htm

Just to warn you – MacPherson speakers are very expensive. My personal opinion is that are overpriced. There are great speakers from QSC, Mackie or JBL that will work just as well and are priced reasonably. You can also get those prices online. The "high end" companies like MacPherson tend to be a little snooty.

What is the retail price of Marlboro Cigarettes in US?

I am working on an academic project. I want to find the average retail price of Marlboro Cigarettes in 50 states in US, preferably with a break-up of the base price, the federal taxes, state taxes and local taxes. Can anyone help me find it?

$3.25-$9.00. Based on where you are in the US. Every US state has different taxes for cigarettes. I live in NC and there $3.85 (a year ago they were $2.75 in NC). But when I’m in New York City they were $8.25. Check out the links below for more detailed info on the cigarette tax by state, federal taxes, and cost average.

What’s the difference between retail and wholesale price?

On Replica sites that sell replica shoes, bags, etc they usually have a wholesale price and a retail price, and wholesale is a little bit cheaper than retail.

??

Retail is what it sells for in the store.

Wholesale is when you wanna buy something in bulk to sell (like if you have a company), so they usually sell you a large amount of items for a cheaper price.

How do I transition back to retail management after spending 9 months as a receptionist?

I was a retail Loss prevention manager for almost 3 years. I then moved and stupidly got a job as a receptionist. I want to go back to retail but I am not sure how to explain the dramatic job difference in responsibilities and show that I am still qualified to be a manager.

You moved and got the first available job.
A very acceptable answer.
And lucky for you in retail it’s already Christmas so everyone is hiring.
Good Luck

How many national retail store chains are there in the US?

I’m having a hard time finding some data on this. I want to know how many retail stores in the US are part of national chains (radioshacks, Walmarts, Best Buys, etc.) as compared to small independently owned stores or small regional chains.

You WON’T find data on that, because NO ONE tracks that. The term "national chain" is COMPLETELY subjective. That can mean that they have a store in more than one state OR it can mean that they much have stores in all 50 states. Also, small independent stores are not required to report ANYTHING to ANYONE about their scope of their operations. Only the IRS cares about them reporting anything and taxable income is NOT going to help you.

Where can I find prices for retail selling space in different cities across the US?

I’m trying to get an idea of where to locate a potential retail business that I want to start. Does anyone know of any associations or websites that provide retail zoned real estate prices for various cities?
I’m looking for recent average selling prices per square foot.

craigslist.org has different city sites that have listings for commercial property.
