I can’t stand to see a woman wear a huge belt around her bulbous gut. Then you have some dark skin women with white make-up around their eyes. I don’t know that’s part of a Fashion or not but it’s terrible looking. I hate seeing some women wearing that junk. What are some fashion styles or statement, you find unattractive on the opposite sex?

I consider myself open-minded but those male purse things annoy me. I don’t mind if a transwoman wears a purse but any other man looks strange to me with one. Sorry.

Those low sagging pants infuriate me. It was one thing when only a few guys did it, and not so low, and not all the time, like Tupac. I could say, "ah…just a little thing". Seeing lots of men dress this way and having the pants near their ankles is disgusting, to me.

Men in those "skinny jeans" tended to look like chickens or something, to me. The rock band guys looked cool and some junior high boys. But most of the rest of the male population looked like they ought to be out on the farm picking up corn kernels and crowing in the morning.

Only a few skateboarders and hip hop emcees looked good with turned around caps. Most of the rest remind me of Bazooka Joe or some other cartoon character.

***I recognize that as I am not paying for the clothes of all these people that my opinion doesn’t really count.****

Before you make the big decision about whether to go to fashion merchandising school, it is a good idea to know exactly what is involved, what the curriculum is, how long it runs for and whether this type of career is really the best thing for you to focus on.

If you love fashion, you are probably a creative individual with your own ideas and inspirations. The whole fashion industry thrives on new ideas but with the best fashion designs in the world, if you do not know how to market them, no one will see your creations and this will ultimately lead to frustration.

The world of fashion design incorporates much more than simply design and production and it is a tough world to break into. There are thousands of aspiring designers and knowing what looks stylish is only a part of the battle for recognition. Willingness on your part to accept new ideas and study hard is absolutely essential.

In a fashion merchandising school, you will be taught how to promote your designs and arouse interest in potential consumers. You will learn how to recognise new trends and how to fine tune and improve your own designs.

Could you be interested in learning more about internet marketing then I suggest you read the Commission Blueprint 2.0 Review or the Niche Blueprint 2.0 Review both of which can be found just by clicking those links.

There are many such schools to choose from so it depends what exactly you wish to learn. The most important things are to hone your merchandising skills to an art form and learn other relevant skills to help you attain success. When you are comparing schools, check their facilities, scholarship plans and the staff.

Unless you have plenty of money to spare, a scholarship can be crucial in covering your expenses. Nearly every fashion designer school can provide some kind of scholarship to help you out.

Before enrolment it is prudent to find out what sort of equipment and facilities the school in question has on offer. You can use your own equipment if you prefer (and if you can afford it) but you need to know what to expect when you get there. Do some research on the teachers available at your chosen school. Find out if you can their qualifications and credibility. A great teacher can make the difference between a struggling student and a successful one.

Another very important factor is the student to teacher ratio. How many students is each teacher responsible for? Obviously, in a very large class, each individual student receives less attention from the teacher. If the classes are very large, you have to wonder why the school is economising on staffing. On the other hand, if the classes are very small, you should question why so few students have wanted to enrol there. Hands-on teaching methods would suffer if the class was enormous and this could result in a great deal of frustration for the student. Try to strike a happy medium – an average sized class is your safest bet.

Fashion merchandising school graduates ought to receive sufficient guidance after their training to enable them to reach the next step of their career. When you leave the school, it is very important to know what you will be doing next. If it is not the school policy to give you some kind of assistance in finding a job when you have completed the course, this should sound alarm bells. It can be difficult to get your first placement without the school’s help.

I owned a fashion boutique but I gave it to my sister because she wanted to open her own one too and I realised that I want to become a writer for Fashion for Heat! Magazine. Since I already have an eye for fashion since my business is running, I think I will have a chance. I’ve opened this boutique for over 4 years now, but I don’t have a degree. It’s all self taught.

easy… write something… and submit it… and althought you may not like this answer, getting into ANY periodical / glossy publishing house is a distant on the horizon dream…you will probably be a stringer or freelancer, staff positions dont happen overnight… and getting IN can take many years of hard work… the big glossies employ the cream… they pay, and they choose… and thier decisons are always based on a solid dependable proven track record… this is a high presure environment… i publish a small community newspaper.. a mere 30 pages once a month… ive never missed a deadline… can you say that?

Could you be interested in learning more about internet marketing then I suggest you read the Commission Blueprint 2.0 Review or the Niche Blueprint 2.0 Review both of which can be found just by clicking those links.

because at 3am, when your art director is screaming down the phone and the deadline is 6 hours away… youd better not have writers block… and your copy has to be precise, concise and on time.

try it, base the article on your own experience, your own boutique… shoot a few frames, and write 2000 words… then rewrite it, to 1000 words… and again, to 500… which is roughly 1 page of A4…
and submit it to your local community newspaper… (treat it as advertising for the boutique) and see where it goes… you can also enrol at the local community colleges for writing workshops..

Its what style setting women prefer to read. For a fashion magazine Elle is definitely one of the ones that includes a few real articles here and there, vs. your typical mindless fashion mag. Also, the fashion shots are artistic and creative.I would recommend Elle over many other fashion magazines. It’s tasteful and doesn’t contain crude sexual insight, but is entertaining and semi-factual. Article subjects differ and are constantly of interest.Elle has a memorable article in every other issue including interesting fashion and beauty tips.

Elle is for affluent successful young women desiring couture fashion, beauty and fitness advice. Editorials are well written and entertaining.Elle provides what you expect from a fashion magazine – and more – catering to the fashionable, smart, sophisticated, woman interested in more than just fashion.Elle unlike other magazines, does a great job at keeping things simple. It boasts only four sections – On The Cover, Fashion,  Features and Beauty and Fitness. A big thumbs up from me on this aspect. I hate it when a magazine creates 12 categories for things that can be lumped into a couple. If you’re a female between the ages of 16 and 40, then the advertisements might be of interest to you. Products include make-up (Clinique, Estee Lauder, L’Oreal, Maybelline); clothing (Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger); jewelry (Swatch, Piaget, Fendi); and perfume (Giorgio Armani, Dior). Nothing original – I’m sure the same ads are appearing in all of the other fashion magazines.Discover everything you need to find the look you love. From cutting-edge runway trends to stylish steals and must-have accessories, ELLE Magazine helps you create your kind of chic.

Every issue is full of expert tips and secrets on hair, skin, make-up, health and fitness to keep you glowing. Elle sits somewhere between Vogue, Allure, and Marie Claire, without Vogue’s coldness or narcissistic qualities, and Allure’s sometimes vapid and repetitive articles about make-up trends, and with articles that are a bit more intelligent at times than Marie Claire’s. I like the fact that Elle also features an “Eco” or “Green” issue that supports and gives recognition to organic cosmetics, etc.To conclude my article i would have to say, is this brain surgery? No. Is this the best magazine ever published? No. But if you like female, fashion magazines that are thick on advertisements and have an article or two that appeal to you, pick Elle up, you won’t be disappointed.

Want to be in the Latest Fashion Trends?

Posted by admin | 23/09/10 | Tagged Fashion

Latest fashion, catches everyone’s eye. A famous person once said, fashion doesn’t have to do with clothes only, but we can find it everywhere, in our ideas, in the way we lead our lives or in everything that’s happening around us. Fashion, It keeps on changing constantly and throughout the years, almost everything in our appearance that could experience change has already been changed Skirts are a very good example, their length going from so short that it hardly covers anything to up to the ankle. And what was once fashionable soon turned into unfashionable, and what was old quickly became new again. All of these fashion trends are inherent and they go as fast as they came. Fashion trends become popular very quickly, but their loss of popularity is quite dramatic. The very essence of fashion trends is ‘here today, gone tomorrow’, so anything else that lasts longer and is eventually absorbed by society and turned into an everyday feature will no longer be a fashion trend.

Fashion trends with women tops, junior tops, juniors clothing and women’s shoes regularly come and go. If you’re a Fashion victim, you gotta be always trendy with jackets, skirts, leggings, colorful leggings, casual tops and other trendy apparel. But being in accordance with the latest fashion trends is not always an easy task, not to mention the fact that chances are you won’t always look your best when you’re trying to be trendy with your clothing, shoes, leggings and skirts.

Everything looks cool on models, but this doesn’t mean it will do the same magic for you. The best advice anyone could give you is to try to develop your own sense of style or at least try to choose from among the various styles that are already out there with women tops, junior tops, juniors clothing, women’s shoes, juniors jackets and other trendy apparel. All of these are high fashion and may be a little out of reach for you. What you can try is mass market design produced by retailers, which doesn’t come with a very impressive price tag. Whatever your choice may be, you have to keep one thing in mind, a well-dressed person always gets a second look. Both your social and personal life will experience nothing but improvement if you have a strong sense of fashion and of the fashion trends.

Women fashion trends borrow heavily from trends for grown ups, but include one important distinction: juniors clothing fashions exist within strictly enforced fashion subcultures. For most women’s, clothing is short-hand for declaring which clique they belong to. Women’s tend to dress in clothing that announces their affiliations and interests with crystal clarity.

Women’s fashion will be moving toward stylish and elegant femininity this summer with pants taking a back seat to dresses and skirts. Bright colors are making a comeback this year with red-orange and fuchsia taking center stage. Cool, neutral colors may make a splash this summer in lavender and aqua shades. For women who prefer darker tones, brown is predicted to be the new black with trendy colors ranging from rich chocolate to light khaki.

Top 8 Trends in Women’s Fashion

1. Dress Her in Complete Looks.
2. Skinny Jeans.
3. Fun Shoes that Really Express Her Personality.
4. Special Clothes That Will Make Her Stand Out.
5. Leggings Worn Under a Short Skirt.

Between Fad and Fashion: Know the Difference

Posted by admin | 14/09/10 | Tagged Fashion

Fashion is always changing and you sometimes end up not being able to catch up with it. How many times have you bought a new outfit and ended up just wearing it once because it was no longer in fashion? Were there times that you bought a lot of stuff that ended up at the back of your closet, never to see daylight again? Don’t you just cringe when you remember what you wore it once just because it was the “trend”?

With the way fashion changes in an instant, it becomes really difficult to distinguish which is fad and which is true fashion. You most probably end up buying tons of stuff that you never get to wear the next year or worse, the next week, and thus, were not worth the money that you paid for them. Here are some tips to help you all along.

Know the Trend, Know Yourself

It is actually very easy to know what the next trend is going to be. You get a hint of this when you watch popular television shows and observe famous actors and actresses. Celebrities are usually the ones who promotes a new trend and if you don’t really like gossiping about their lives, then think that this is one way of finding out what the next fashion is going to be.

Finding what’s popular now is actually very easy. You will see images in magazines, designs copied in stores and the most telling part is when somebody you know is wearing them. The important question to ask yourself is, “Can I wear them?” and “Will I have the opportunity to wear it?”

Could you be interested in learning more about internet marketing then I suggest you read the Commission Blueprint 2.0 Review or the Niche Blueprint 2.0 Review both of which can be found just by clicking those links.

Don’t just buy something because it is the new trend without being sure yourself that you can wear it. Don’t just stash it in the far corners of your closet thinking that you could probably put it to good use someday. There is really no point in buying something that you are not sure you could wear.

Keep Up with Fashion, Ignore the Fad

It is very tempting to buy the latest skinny jeans or indulge in a pair of espadrilles but you should stock up on the basics and classic pieces first. Classic pieces like the little black dress, black slacks, white button down shirt, jeans and a black pencil skirt are Fashion pieces that never go out of style.

For example, leopard prints are the latest trend and you want to try the look out. Instead of buying every article of clothing that has a leopard print in it, why not buy a few accessory pieces or two just to satisfy your curiosity and give you that updated, new fashion look? You can buy headbands with leopard prints or pumps with leopard prints and pair those up with classic pieces like a pair of jeans and a white button down shirt.

Don’t get caught up in fashion to the point that you don’t get to decide yourself if you look good or not. Know yourself, know your body and decide to wear what you like and what looks great. Sometimes, fashion is just all about common sense.

For the first time in Italy, in fact, a school for foreigners suggests to guys a peculiar way to learn Italian, especially Italian for fashion.

Yes, because thanks to the course Fashion Show, the guys will find themselves in close contact with one of the most important aspects of our culture, that is fashion, learning in this way to know in detail the characteristics that make the ‘made in Italy’ products the center of international fashion.

They will study the history of Italian fashion, but most of all they will learn the use of Italian language in the field of fashion. Hi,

Im 20 and about to start a marketing degree. I recently finished a Fashion diploma and i was planning to do fashion marketing but as its extremely competitive i felt that marketing alone would open more doors, just in case. I would really like to do fashion but i am trying to play it safe. I have recently started up a fashion blog and realised that i love writing about fashion and was wondering if becoming a fashion journalist was not so much about the degree but the experience?

I know it’s a cliche but in any creative field networking is 100x more important than the diploma. Ask yourself: what are the odds that any of my marketing instructors will be able to hook me up with a job at a fashion magazine when school is over?

Could you be interested in learning more about internet marketing then I suggest you read the Commission Blueprint 2.0 Review or the Niche Blueprint 2.0 Review both of which can be found just by clicking those links.

Whatever you do, KEEP BLOGGING! Make that blog the best damn blog you can make. It’ll get your name out there, and the criticism you get from rude commenters will eventually mold you into a better writer. If you live in a fashion-conscious city you can do some investigative journalism too.

Good luck!
