Hi, my friend and I are planning for a trip to Cuba, we both are American citizens, we are looking for a Travel agency that we can work with planning the trip. Any suggestions?
I’m hoping to fly out of Vancouver (I’m in CA) or Toronto.

I am not sure whether the usa government allows citizens to visit Cuba

Besides, better wait until big bad old fidel is no longer with us

I am a sophomore in college and have not had health or dental insurance since I was a little kid. I can’t be on my mom’s insurance cause the price will sky rocket. I have a part time job so I don’t get health benefits at work. Is there some type of health insurance that has good coverage but also doesn’t cost too much since I don’t make too much?

I am looking into becoming an Environmental Scientist when I am finished high school (Currently in Grade 10). But does Environmental Science branch off into more Sciences, such as Environmental Biologist, or Economist?

I have looked into the Environmental Institute at Carleton (Ottawa, ON) .. but it only mentions Environmental Scientist, as if it’s a specific term. Although it just sounds like such a general term to me.

Is Environmental Science a specific career/field, or is it very general?

Environmental Science is a highly multidisciplinary. Just a few of the topics that you will have to study include…

1. Biology
2. Geology
3. Chemistry
4. Physics
5. Engineering
6. Sociology
7. Health
8. Anthropology
9. Economics
10. Statistics
11. Philosophy/Ethics

When planning a trip online, you can do more than book the flight. Many websites offer Travel guides, lists of destination activities, etc. We’d love to know which online travel tools you rely on the most.

For me, I like to know more about the destination cities or countries. the facilities, information about cool place and tourism area, etc. I also would like to know about the accomodation that travel agencies provide. About the flight, I would like to know the plane type, the services they give especially for a long journey, and all kind of important information such as baggage limit etc.

I want to be a photography or a photojournalist. Really anything that lets me do the one thing I love. What are some good schools to go to? What has the best programs? Where did you go to school for photography? Did you major in photography? What did you minor in?

etc.
Thanks!

How do I get my pets from one city to the next?

Posted by admin | 27/10/10 | Tagged Pets

Starting school in a new city, and I have a bunch of Pets to take with me to my new flat. It’s a 6 hour drive, two cats, 3 turtles, a fish, and a porcupine. How do I transport them all. I especially want to know how to transport my fish without killing him. Should I get a moving van, because I’ll have other stuff to take too.

Don’t put the animals themselves in the moving van, just furniture.

For the fish and turtles, you’re going to need to drain some of the water with a siphon until it’s manageable to carry and so that it won’t slosh over during the ride. It’s a good idea to keep some of the dirty water in a covered bucket so that a large water change won’t shock them.

I suggest moving all of the animals last so that you know where they need to go. I’d personally transport the fish, turtles, and porcupine together (provided it’s caged), then the cats during another trip so that they aren’t under your feet when bringing the tanks inside. If you take them all in one trip, then let the cats out after everything is settled!

To transport the cats, I would put them in a big dog crate big enough for a litter box, feeding, and sleeping area. Then they should be fine for the 6 hour ride, maybe halfway through you could leash them if they like that, and let them walk around a bit outside.

She works full time but her employer charges an outrageous amount of money for health insurance. I know there are many many young people who don’t have health insurance, mostly because of the cost of high insurance premiums. But my daughter really needs it cause she has some Health issues that will stay with her for a lifetime.

Is this a sign that the fish has gone bad? I hesitate to eat the fish when I see this. And this is after cooking a 3/4 inch slice on each side for 4 minutes.
Ah, so far it looks like I’m not going to get a horrible stomach problem. Phew!
I’m really impressed with these answers.

I agree with Magic in that it’s mostly coagulated protein…and supposedly once you see it, your fish is beginning to be overcooked. Some say if you sear it first, you won’t see it if it does happen.

Here’s something else I found at:

"Having white "beads" on a baked salmon is normal – but usually only happens when salmon is fully cooked through (errr….over cooked?). It’s completely edible. These "beads" that foams up is albumin protein (the same stuff found in egg whites), not fats!

Note: This also has to do with whether the fish was cold from the fridge or was at room temperature before cooking is done. Typically, the colder the salmon to begin with, the more white stuff or "beads" appear."

How do I travel around the world cheaply?

Posted by admin | 24/10/10 | Tagged Travel

I want to travel around the world for a few months during my gap year, but all the gap year and Travel companies cost a fortune! I’ve been told doing it solo is a lot cheaper. So how do I get the price right down and still be safe?

buy a row boat and go.

How can I start my own photography company?

Posted by admin | 24/10/10 | Tagged Photography

I’m 16 and I want to start my own little photography company (I guess I can call it that?)
Some people around school want me to take their pictures, but I don’t know how much I should charge or do what.
I want to make some cash, because I don’t work, and I honestly don’t want to work at the mall or at some restaurant.

I have taken Photography classes, I am good at it, but I have NO idea where to start at, please help me out here.

Check around in your area to see what other photographers are charging for what services they are offering.

Since you’ll likely be taking more casual shots of fellow students and not using a formal "studio", etc. just charge them a reduce value to those going rates by the pros.

Have fun ~ I ran a dark room for years and loved it.
